HELP US SHAPE THE FUTURE

“We are looking for a church building that glorifies God, that gives space for our worship today, protects the heritage of St John’s and secures a presence in the town for the future.”

Since St John’s Church was built in 1856 it has continued to evolve to meet the needs of the community of worshippers.

With its impressive tower and spire it still provides a focal point in the centre of a busy market town reaching out to help all areas of the community.

It is now time to develop the interior of the church to provide a more ‘open space’ as necessary major repairs and alterations are carried out. For the last few months we have been consulting on this and the PCC has reviewed all the submissions received.

Ways to Support

Prayerfully

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain” Our desire is to see St John’s continue to be a place of worship, of community engagement and a place of joy for all ages. We continue to seek God’s leading in all of our decisions, so please do pray along with us.

Raise The Roof – Name A Slate

We also had a brilliant way of raising funds, and placing your own personal mark on St John’s. When the roof tiles were removed and replaced, we wrote personalised messages on some of our slates. For a small donation of £5 you were able to secure a slate, write your own message and receive a certificate as a lifetime reminder of your gift to St John’s.
